FOUR PLAYERS from the Midlands football club West Bromwich Albion have been accused of taking a cab without the owner’s permission in Barcelona.
The players, Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore, Jonny Evans and Boaz Myhill, allegedly stole the taxi after the driver got out of the vehicle.
A spokesman for the Catalan police, the Mosses d’Esquadra, said:
Four identified men got a taxi to McDonalds by the Barcelona port and at some point the driver left the car for some reason. The passengers then took control of the taxi. They eventually returned it to their hotel and we got a call from the receptionist saying they had parked outside the hotel. This happened at 5:30am and the taxi was returned to its owner at 8am. The four people were not arrested but they are under investigation.
