UPS has launched a new 8,000 square metre depot in Lyon.
The fully automated facility will serve as a package sorting centre and distribution hub for parcels of all sizes and process up to 10,000 packages an hour – tripling the company’s previous capacity.
In a statement, UPS said:
The new facility is part of a series of UPS expansions across France and the rest of Europe, and is part of our commitment to invest two billion dollars in its European infrastructure up to 2019.
UPS France manager Mike Harrell said: “This new hub is needed, not only to support our existing customers and their growth, but also to create capacity to support our future business development in this very important market.”
