A SOUTH LONDON pub is offering to book cabs for customers on internet dates that are not going well.
The Hand & Racquet in Wimbledon Hill Road has put up signs to help anyone who wants to make a quick exit and urges drinkers to ask for one of two code names at the bar.
The sign in the woman’s toilet, reads:
Date gone wrong? Doesn’t look like his picture or just plain weird? If you’re on a date and it’s not going well, come to the bar and ask for ‘Rachelle’ or ‘Jennifer’ and we’ll get you out of it and order you a taxi.
Your safety and happiness is our highest priority. If anyone bothers you or makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell us. We will discreetly move them away and if necessary, ask them to leave.
Manager Tom Kelly said there was a similar sign offering to call for a taxi in the men’s toilets and added: “We saw the sign on social media a while ago and thought it was a good idea. We’ve had loads of really good feedback from it. Lots of people have said they are really glad it is there.”
