A FEMALE FINANCE worker was raped by a stranger who pretended to be a minicab driver after she had enjoyed a night out with friends in Notting Hill.
A jury at Blackfriars Crown Court found Ali Moaberfard (38) guilty of driving the victim to a house in Uxbridge, West London and raping her while she was semi conscious.
The woman woke up to find the defendant having sex with her and told the jury: “I felt disgusted. I had been taken somewhere against my will and someone had sex with me. He essentially kidnapped me and took me to a house where I didn’t know where I was.”
The court heard that the woman was woken up by the alleged tout rapist the next morning. He said he had to go to work and that he would give her a lift to a local train station.
The victim told the court she had drunk six rum and Cokes at a party in May 2012 before deciding to leave and make her way home.
She said: “It was a free bar and I was having a good time. I don’t remember leaving the party and I don’t remember anything until I was in the car sometime later.
“I thought it was a minicab. He stopped, ushered me towards a house and I lay down on the sofa and passed out.
“I woke up and he was on top of me, my trousers and underwear were pulled down and he was having sex with me. I was almost unable to move and I tried to push him off, but I was really quite weak.”
The woman attended the Whittington Hospital in the morning after the alleged attack and medical staff contacted the police. Moaberfard was arrested in November 2012 after DNA tests were carried out on the victim’s clothing.
Detective constable vicky Stenning said: “Moaberfard targeted a vulnerable woman who thought he was taking her home. I would like to praise her bravery in coming forward and speaking to the police.
“I would urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to speak with us so that we can bring the perpetrators to court.”
Moaberfard will be sentenced in October.
