A 31 YEAR old man from Crewe has been charged with trying to kill a Manchester cabbie.
Christopher Smethurst, of no fixed abode, was charged at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said:
Police and ambulance crews were called to Ruskin Avenue in Rusholme to reports of a stabbing. A 42 year old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
