KRISPY Kreme Doughnuts took out a full-page ad in The Tennessean newspaper to honour murdered delivery driver Al Baker.

The driver, who had worked for the company for more than 30 years, was shot and killed while sitting in his delivery truck.

The ad read in part: Always loved. Always remembered. Always in our hearts. Al Baker

Sarah Roof, Corporate Communications Coordinator for Krispy Kreme, said:

We are deeply saddened about the senseless death of Al Baker, an important member of the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts team for 31 years. Our thoughts and hearts go out to his family, friends and co-workers.

Baker pulled up outside a Mapco store which unknown to him was being robbed at gunpoint. As the gunman ran out of the store he fired multiple shots at Baker “For no apparent reason”. The alleged robber is still at large.
