A TRAFFIC POLICEMAN in the capital city of South Africa’s Gauteng province is fighting for his life after his motorcycle was hit by a cab at a busy city centre crossroad intersection.
The police officer was flown by air-ambulance to a nearby Johannesburg hospital and was reported to be in a critical condition. The taxi driver has since been arrested.
Emergency G-Med operations manager Jurgen Kotze said:
The traffic officer was on his motorbike at the corner of K101 (Old Pretoria Road) and Allandale Road, in Midrand, when the taxi driver allegedly ran into him.
