A WEST COUNTRY cabbie has been jailed for two years after he gave stolen cash and jewellery to a woman half his age.
Bristol Crown Court heard that 64 year old Paul McComb (above) struck up a relationship with Lisa Marie Thornton (36) and gave her money to buy cocaine, in the hope that she would have sex with him.
Mr McComb turned to crime when his wife threw him out and he told the court that he had behaved like a, “mad old dog”.
Jailing the taxi driver for two years, after he was found guilty of theft and burglary, recorder Mr William Mousley QC, said: “You had an inappropriate relationship and your life disintegrated around you as a result. This must be a very difficult concept for your wife and your family to accept, knowing you as they do.”
In a separate incident, Thorton was stabbed to death in November 2017 and a 42 year old man has since been charged with murder and is currently awaiting trial.
