DEAN Richardson, the fighting pride of the London taxi industry, makes a welcome return to the boxing ring on Friday 16th February at York Hall, Bethnal Green. In what will be his sixth professional contest, Richardson faces the highly experienced Kevin McCauley, who has amassed an incredible 185 professional fights in a 10 year professional career.

Whilst typifying the ‘have gloves will travel, journeyman pro’, McCauley cannot be underestimated, having shared the ring with some notable company during the formative years of their careers including; former world champion Liam Smith, European title challenger Lee Purdy, Commonwealth champions Denton Vassell and John Wayne Hibbert and current British title holder Bradley Skeete.

• Deano hopes to land a Southern Area title shot in 2018

Despite having won just 15 of his fights, the Stourbridge man has only failed to hear the final bell on ten occasions, suggesting that Richardson will do well to maintain his 100 per cent knockout ratio. Although still very much a novice pro, a win for ‘Deano’ will ensure he remains on course to earn a shot at the Southern Area light-middleweight title, which he hopes will happen sometime this year.

If you’d like to go along and support Dean, tickets are priced at £40 for unreserved seating, £70 for ringside  and £150 for VIP (Ringside table with table service food and drink) and can be purchased by calling 07702 887088 or visiting iboxingtickets.com.  Doors open at 5pm with boxing commencing at 6pm.
