A LIVERPOOL cabbie has been arrested in the suburb of Bootle on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs.
The minicab driver was pulled over by police officers after they saw a “suspicious transaction” between him and a male cyclist.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said:
At around 7pm, officers on patrol spotted the on-duty Ford Focus private hire cab in Hawthorne Road. On searching the vehicle, two bags of cannabis were found and the driver was drug-tested at scene, which he failed. A 40 year old man from Bootle was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and a a further drug-driving offence.
