HUNDREDS OF Deliveroo cycle and moped riders have staged protests over pay changes they fear will lead to a cut in wages.
A number of riders held a demonstration in Soho outside the head office of the delivery firm, while others took to the streets of London in convoys to highlight their discontent.
Deliveroo is planning to replace the current £7 per hour plus £1 per delivery rate with a blanket fee of £3.75 per delivery.
Riders have rejected the offer and are calling for pay of £8 an hour and £1 per delivery, plus tips and the cost of fuel for moped riders.
Deliveroo provides a two-wheeled service to restaurants that do not have delivery riders and customers are charged the cost of their food plus a £2.50 delivery fee.
