DID YOU SEE CRASH IN ST ALBANS?
Police are hoping a taxi driver who stopped to give assistance at the scene of a serious road accident will come forward and provide vital information.
The crash took place at 12.30am on April 1 in Harpenden Road, close to the junction with Heathlands, when a Volvo XC90 was overtaken by a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo travelling north.
The Mitsubishi hit the kerb, careered across the road into the opposite carriageway and crashed into another Volvo XC90.
A 25 year old man sitting in the front passenger seat of the Mitsubishi was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London with serious head injuries. The 26 year old male driver in the Mitsubishi and a 24 female passenger were also seriously injured and taken at Watford General Hospital.
The 45 year old female driver of the second Volvo received treatment for minor injuries at the scene but was not taken to hospital.
Detectives now want to speak to a cab driver who may have important information.
PC Helen Carpenter said: “A white taxi stopped at the scene immediately after the collision, but left before the police arrived. This driver may have witnessed something vital and I would ask that the driver to make contact with me via the Herts police non-emergency number.”
