THE SON OF NEW YORK billionaire Peter Brant and former model Stephanie Seymour has been charged with drug possession and resisting arrest after he refused to pay a taxi fare.
Harry Brant (20), who allegedly refused to pay $27.85 after he was taken by Stamford Taxis to Greenwich Avenue, has been charged with larceny in the sixth degree, illegal possession and interfering with an officer.
A spokesman for the New York Police Department said that officers were despatched after they received a description of a tall white suspect in a black T-shirt and trousers.
Detectives found Brant, “sweating profusively and pale in colour” at 55 Railroad Avenue.
Brant claimed at first he had not been in a taxi, but then changed his story and said he did not have enough money to pay the fare to Greenwich.
The billionaire’s son shouted, “No! No!” when told he was going to be taken into custody and tried to run away from the arresting officer.
Brant continued to resist and was finally placed in handcuffs.
A search revealed a ‘baggie’ with a narcotic substance and he will appear in court at a later date.
