TENSIONS erupted recently between eCommerce giant Alibaba and China’s largest courier company SF Express.
Alibaba had demanded that SF Express share all its delivery information, including those that did not originate from Alibaba.
When the logistics company refused, Alibaba’s CEO Jack Ma blacklisted the firm, removing it as a shipping option for its customers. SF Express then blocked Alibaba’s access to all their data.
The standoff came to an end after an intervention from China’s State Post Bureau. The firms have since agreed to a truce and will resume data sharing in the near future.
