BOSTON POLICE have ruled out terrorism after a cabbie lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a group of colleagues, injuring ten, at a taxi parking area at Logan International Airport.
The licensed hackney carriage hit a kerb and struck a number of cab drivers in what detectives say is a case of “operator error”. It is believed the driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
State police major Frank McGinn said:
There does not appear at this time to be any indication of any intentional act. Just a tragic accident. The driver has no history of driving violations and he is known to be a very nice gentleman to his peers.
The taxi driver, from the Boston suburb of Cambridge is believed to work for Metro Cab and was interviewed under caution by officers at the scene of the incident.
Metro Cab was asked to comment but declined.
