SIX MEN HAVE been charged following the death of a delivery driver on his 70th birthday.
James Ray was found at an industrial estate in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester with serious head injuries. He died from his injuries the next day – his 70th birthday.
Mr Ray had been delivering cleaning supplies and his van was stolen from the scene and later abandoned in nearby Stalybridge.
Three men have been charged with manslaughter, aggravated vehicle taking and conspiracy to steal. Three others have been charged with conspiracy to steal.
